Day 245

Father, 

We praise You for hating sin. We praise You for loving Your glory and Your kids. Your ways are righteous, God. 

Ours are not. We are unrighteous. Like Israel, it would be fair to compare us to dross. Even Your enemies are shocked by our behavior sometimes, because we’ve left no commandment unbroken. We know it. You know it. But that’s what makes Your love all the more shocking and glorious. You see our sin fully, and You speak a better truth over us nonetheless. You call us precious, beloved, the sought out ones. Your massive love for us despite our sins softens us, it prompts us to respond with repentance and love. So we do, God. Bring to mind the areas of our thoughts and actions that have dishonored You. Grant us repentance in those areas⁠—the true repentance that turns the other direction and walks away from our sin and toward You.

Thank You for granting us the righteousness of Your Son Jesus. Thank You for the intimacy that comes from having Your Spirit in us. We surrender our lives to You, Lord—every moment of our day, each decision we make, we yield our will and way to Your perfect will and way. 

We love You too. Amen.
