Day 143

Father, 

We praise You for being a Redeeming God. You are victorious over sin and You use it for Your purposes and for our joy! Thank You that sin never gets the final word⁠—that You’re always working in and through our sin to make it serve Your purposes. Your plan always prevails against the enemy! 

Like David, we tend toward self-reliance. We try to initiate change or action without regard for Your commands and the wisdom of those around us. We repent of our autonomy. We repent of trying to find comfort in any kind of numbers. We repent of looking to power and protection for our hope. You alone are our hope, God. We repent of our sins and turn to You and we ask You to make our hearts clean. 

Would You mold our hearts to match Your desires? We trust You to initiate, fulfill, and perfect the purposes You’ve established for our lives. You know better than we do. 

We surrender our lives to You, Lord—every moment of our day, each decision we make, we yield our will and way to Your perfect will and way. 

We love You too. Amen.
